Luts La Sirenita Pine - Box Opening

 Shamelessly copied and pasted from my DoA thread... LOL (>__<);;

My friend, Keiko, received her doll last week and I have the pleasure of doing the face up for her doll. Keiko has given me permission to share her 'box opening' with you. This is the special release version of Pine from Luts during Sept/Oct. I actually put the order through for her while we were vacationing in Japan.

The shipping was very quick, her doll arrived within 3 weeks from the order date.

Sirenita Pine comes with her Elf and Human head, with high heeled feet as extras. My friend changed the feet to the heeled ones before she gave her to me, so she doesn't stand...well. I'll most likely change her doll back to the normal feet later.

Her arms are double jointed, however, her knees are not. Resin color is Real Skin Normal.
Apologies for the bad lighting in the photos...I was loosing daylight when I took the pictures >__<;

Luts Box! It's quite pretty.

Stringing Booklet. It also came with some promotional business cards which I didn't take a picture of.

Since she can't stand well because of her heeled feet, I took a picture of her sitting. I'm not impressed with the eye color choice Luts gave her...but they were random, so my friend and I can't complain too much.

Her hands are very pretty and delicate looking.

Her eyes are glass. But I can't put a finger what colour this is. Reminds me of swamp water... LOL!

A picture of her heeled feet!

Her human head. I'm not sure which head I prefer myself...I think the human one. Personally, I'm not so interested in fantasy sculpts...

She is quite light compared to my Volks MSDs. She is also quite slight when I compare them to my MSDs, smaller in height and girth. I have a feeling Keiko is going to spoil her rotten. I'll update again when I finish both the face ups!

Thanks for looking! :D

Meet Kaiyouko

This is my friend's Abio Angel Doll Ba. (Or I think it's a Ba, I'm not really sure, and I don't think she knows either..) At first Keiko asked me to help her with sewing and making clothes, but the first lesson turned into me redoing the faceup for her doll. When I first saw her doll, I noticed that she looked like of like an alien. She had strong eyeliner around her eyes, but everything else was very plain. Cold and robotic lady...
I also noticed, the gloss that was used by the company was turning yellow!! So...I decided to give her a make over with Keiko's permission :)

Unfortunately, I don't have any before pictures of her company face up because my computer fried and I lost everything that was on my computer. So...we'll just have to look at the after shots :)!

Keiko asked for a simple and natural face up and overall the effect greatly changed her appearance from before. She commented that her doll looked a lot more happier, I personally think she looks very sweet :) I really like the green eyes and when I finished the face up, I told Keiko that she would probably look better with brown hair, since it would match her skin tone and eyes better. Her doll had this curly blonde wig that just didn't work...but she had an extra brown wig...which I decided to re-style. The end result is what you see in the photo. I cut a good 7" off that wig and braided it. Too bad I didn't take a picture of what it looked like before...it was really strange! It was parted into two ponytails and was messily curled at the bottom...I didn't like it, and I don't think Keiko did either. So...I had a good time with my scissors :)!

We'll hunt for more accessories for her doll in Japan, so she'll probably get a new look soon!

Lareine arrives! Box opening pictures.

Yesterday, I was woken up by the postman who had two boxes for me! How exciting :) One was the Luts order I made with my sister and Alice, the other one was my newest doll that I just finished on layaway about a week before.

I immediately went inside...squealed, and called my sister telling her that she had to get her bum over to have a box opening welcome party for my new doll. And to pick up her items from the Luts order...and mooch some of the food in the house. LOL

I've been pining for a Rosen Lied Sage for awhile actually...and it doesn't help that the LE editions of Sage are so lovely. I saw this girl up for adoption on DoA, and I immediately contacted the seller. She is the limited time release from earlier this year between Jan-Feb.

Lareine, a Rosen Lied Tuesday's Child Sage WS

Zephyria, Airy and Ventus come to welcome Lareine.
Delilah sits strategically to block out my name and address. ♥

It just so happens...that my dolls were in cosplay when she arrived..just because I was making outfits for Ventus...and Delilah seems to enjoy her Hinaichigo outfit. (But they do look cute...so I didn't bother changing their outfits ^__^' )

My sister's Airy helps open the shipping box :)

Lots of peanuts and bubble wrap later, my sister and I pull out the lovely box.

The box was really beautiful.
Delilah comes to investigate...

My sister and I pulled all the extra bubble wrap and protection aside and laid everything out nicely in the box. The certificate and manual are on the side.

I see her...one eye?! LOL
I love that teddybear case..it's so cute and amusing. I was surprised to see that the extra bunny ear parts (hidden in the top left hand corner) and the dress were not opened by the previous owner. Her wig is not the standard default one that came with this set, however I did not mind that fact. I also bought the pair of boots off the seller since I thought they were super cute...♥

The face up was custom by the previous seller. I think it's so lovely, she did an amazing job on it ♥

The Rosen Lied headplate. It's so pretty!

Her she is all dressed up. The wig is Very beautiful. My sister and I were staring and admiring it for a bit.. ;)

Delilah comes to say hi... :)

The welcoming committee!

I decided to try on the wig that I had gotten from Luts on Lareine today. It's definitely a different look...but I like the blond :)
It took my sister and I almost half an hour to change one of her hands. It was painful...since the stringing was so tight and the hook was so tiny. It was a major workout...so I didn't bother to change her other one.

The next post, I'll focus more of the swag I got from the Luts order, like the puppets and stuff I got.

I love this doll....I'm so very happy to able to have her!

Thanks for looking! ♥

BJD Face ups..Hm...(Part.2)

I finished touching up Ventus' face up a couple days ago, I just didn't upload pictures yet. I think after I finished Zephyria, it was much easier to control the brush strokes. Of course, I didn't have to do as many lashes as I did for her...since he is a boy and I wanted to keep it simple.
I reset his fake lashes, instead of them drooping, I set them to curl up, so then at least when I photograph him, you can kind of sense he has lashes! They're quite short..but now you get the hint of them! I re-painted his lower lashes and added some details to his mouth to define his smile.

The differences are quite subtle right?

While I finished up with Ven, I decided to test out the eyes I recently purchased, I won't show the gold ones, but here are the blue ones. They are really lovely and photograph very well. The ones from Volks (above) are more realistic, and there is a reason I chose these eyes...
But aren't they pretty? I've left them in for now and since Ven and Delilah sit next to each other in my room, their blue eyes compliment each other :)

More random face up things to come! A DD (Dollfie Dream) will be next..once I finish it ^__^'

BJD Face ups..Hm...

I got more mail today! So exciting when I get mail :)
I purchased a 100/0 Artetje brush from a member on DoA. I love it, it's probably the thinnest brush I've ever used/seen. Thanks to Alice for showing it to me with the comparison to a needle!!
The eyes, that's for a surprise for later. Anyone take a guess for what they are for?

Sorry about the bad lighting...got lazy and decided not to edit the pic in photoshop...

So I decided to test out the new brush! It's pretty amazing, however I found it took me a good 30 mins before I got the hang of doing decent brush stroke for the eyelashes. I've been wanting to fix the face ups on Zephyria and Ventus for awhile...so here's Zephy!

I wanted to fix her lashes and see how it would be if I 'opened' them up. It's quite a different look! I then went in and removed the old lashes and redid them. Took awhile since I don't do face ups a lot. Then added the small points on the mouth to define her smile. I wish I had long luscious lashes like hers... >__<;

On other news, mom bought me a winter jacket today. We've been stalking this particular jacket for weeks now waiting for it to go on sale. LOL I know, so cheap and asian, but I wasn't Dying to have it...so I told mom to wait. After a couple weeks, it got marked down from $149 to $119!! However, they had a size 8 left in the Petite section...
Got it anyways since it should be pretty easy to take it in! The size 6 at the store fit me pretty well before..so a bit of tweaking will be ok. The sales associate there thought I was a size 2 or 4. LOL When I told her I was trying on the 8, her eyes bugged out like this: O__O

Going to be going on a trip soon...I haven't started packing yet :( Nor have I completed the Poring army! Boo!! Gotta get cracking on that...almost there!

Sis got her Volks SD16 Daria a couple days ago! SHE'S HUGE. Towers over my resin children. XD
Ventus barely comes up to her elbow!! And Delilah...ohh so tiny Delilah! She came up to her knee cap...LOL

Ven: "Is this thing a hat?"

That's it for my update today! Hopefully something exciting happens before my trip that I can blog about :)
See ya!
